Your dog will learn to sit and stay on command, maintaining their position until released, and to lie down calmly when instructed, helping to prevent unwanted behaviors and promote calmness.

Leave It and Drop It

Teaching your dog to leave items alone or to drop objects on command is crucial for their safety and for preventing destructive behaviors. Through positive reinforcement and redirection techniques, we’ll train your dog to ignore distractions, such as food on the ground or forbidden objects, and to release items from their mouth when instructed.

off leash board and train

Designed to give your dog the ultimate freedom and provide you with ultimate control, this program focuses on off-leash obedience and reliability. Dogs will learn to respond to commands even without the constraint of a leash, allowing for greater freedom and flexibility in various environments. Owners will enjoy the peace of mind of knowing they have reliable control over their dog, whether hiking, at the park, going to the beach, or in busy public spaces. Here is what your dog can expect to learn while staying with one of our trainers:

Recall (Come When Called)

Teaching your dog a strong recall is paramount for off-leash freedom and safety, allowing you to call them back to you reliably in any situation. Through structured training sessions and positive reinforcement techniques, we’ll build a rock-solid recall response, ensuring that your dog responds promptly and consistently to your recall command, even amidst distractions.

Heel

Mastering the heel command ensures that your dog walks calmly and attentively by your side, whether on or off-leash, without pulling or straying. We’ll work on teaching your dog to maintain a close heel position, adjusting their pace to match yours, and paying attention to your cues for direction changes or stops.

Sit-Stay and Down-Stay

These fundamental obedience commands provide essential control over your dog’s behavior, especially in off-leash settings where distractions abound. Your dog will learn to sit or lie down and remain in position until released, regardless of surrounding distractions, helping to maintain control and prevent impulsive behaviors.

Place Command

Teaching your dog the place command involves training them to go to a designated spot, such as a mat or bed, and remain there until released. This command is particularly useful for creating boundaries, managing guests, or providing a safe space for your dog in various environments.

Leave It and Drop It

Developing a reliable leave it and drop it command ensures that your dog can resist temptations and relinquish items on command, promoting safety and preventing unwanted behaviors. We’ll teach your dog to ignore distractions, such as food or objects on the ground, and to release items from their mouth when instructed, fostering impulse control and obedience.

Impulse Control

Instilling impulse control in your dog is crucial for off-leash reliability and well-mannered behavior, helping them make thoughtful choices and resist impulsive behaviors. Through structured exercises and controlled exposure to distractions, we’ll help your dog learn to exercise self-control, make better decisions, and exhibit calm and polite behavior in various situations.

Socialization and Distraction Training

Exposing your dog to different environments, people, and animals is essential for building confidence and reliability in off-leash obedience. We’ll incorporate socialization and distraction training into your dog’s program, gradually exposing them to various stimuli while reinforcing their obedience skills and focus.

Ongoing Support and Follow-Up

Our commitment to you and your dog doesn’t end with the board and train program. We provide ongoing support, guidance, and follow-up sessions to ensure continued success and reinforcement of the skills learned during the program. Owners are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to maintain their dog’s training and behavior long-term, ensuring lasting results.

Behavior Modification board and train

This program is dedicated to changing your dog’s mindset and resolving issues such as aggression, fear, anxiety, and other behavior challenges. Through specialized training techniques and behavior modification protocols, dogs will learn alternative coping mechanisms and positive behaviors to replace problematic ones. Owners will witness significant improvements in their dog’s behavior and mental well-being, leading to a more harmonious relationship and improved quality of life for both dog and owner. Here is what you can expect from our behavior modification board and train:

Relationship building

A key component in any successful behavior modification program is firstly developing a strong relationship between the trainer and your dog. The first few days will solely be dedicated to helping your dog decompress in a new environment and build a working relationship with the trainer. Once the trainer and dog have developed mutual trust and friendship with one another they will work on changing your dog’s internal state of mind.

Desensitization and Counterconditioning

Once your dog settles in, we will begin to gradually desensitize your dog by gradually exposing them to the triggers of their fear, aggression, or anxiety in a controlled and systematic manner. we will then use counterconditioning by pairing the presence of these triggers with positive experiences, such as treats or play, to change your dog’s emotional response from negative to positive. Through structured training sessions and careful management of triggers, we’ll help your dog learn to remain calm and composed in situations that once caused distress or aggression.

Relaxation and Calming Techniques

Teaching your dog relaxation and calming techniques is essential for managing anxiety and fear-related behaviors. We’ll introduce your dog to relaxation exercises that can help settle their mind so that they can be in a prime state to learn. By using a combination of play based therapy and conditioned relaxation your dog will be able to cope with stress and anxiety more effectively.

Confidence-Building Activities

Building your dog’s confidence is key to overcoming fear-based behaviors and improving their overall mental well-being. We’ll incorporate confidence-building activities, such as overcoming obstacles, and interactive games, to boost your dog’s self-assurance and resilience.

Impulse Control and Focus

Developing impulse control and focus is crucial for managing reactive behaviors and redirecting your dog’s attention away from triggers. We’ll work on exercises to improve your dog’s impulse control and focus, teaching them to remain calm and attentive even in challenging situations.

Client Testimonial

“I feel fortunate to have found a trainer like Zech to work with me and my girl Raven.”

“Zech is incredibly patient, kind, and knowledgeable in his teaching skills with dogs and their owners. He understands the frustration of behavioral problems and his methods of training are very effective. Zech trains the dog but also educates the owner in a manner that facilitates communication between you and your dog. As a result of his training Raven and I are more at peace, and I look forward to having more training sessions with him.”
